Guiding high schoolers to a
more joyful and meaningful future.
At Trailblaze, we do everything possible to help your student get into a college they love. But our goal for your student is way bigger than that. We want to help them discover who they are so they’re ready to become all they can be.
Why Trailblaze
We’re on a mission to help young people land at college with
the skills, ambition, and confidence they need to succeed.
We know how stressful this time is for your family, and we’re here to help.
Trailblaze collaborates with teens to cultivate a great high school experience that reflects their talents, ambitions, and values. We meet your student where they’re at and then lead them on a journey of self-discovery to chart a unique pathway to their ideal college experience.
We meet regularly to navigate each stage of the college planning process together until the applications are complete. In our mentorship model, we’ll travel through the most important areas of their lives: personal awareness, academic planning, career, and college selection.
How we can work together
9th & 10th Graders
Launch
We work with freshman and sophomore students to get them off on the right foot. We’ll be mentors, providing insights, information, and experiences that can help them grow and thrive.
11th Graders
Expedition
Junior year is one of the most critical stages of the college application process. We’ll tackle this sometimes-chaotic period with solid support that releases the pressure and inspires confidence.
12th Graders
Summit
Senior students are well on their way. So our role shifts to be more of a guide and sounding board while encouraging the student to take more responsibility for the process—and their future.
About our founder
Hi, I’m Carol.
I started Trailblaze because there is nothing I love more than helping kids discover their interests and talents, while also learning how to direct their energy toward the things that are most meaningful to them.
Working with high schoolers is my greatest passion—and where I have the most experience. I was a member of the undergraduate admissions team for both Stanford and NYU for five years. I know how applications are read and evaluated, and I know what matters when a school is making a decision about whether to admit.
I’d love to help your student find their place in the world.
“Carol is a rare gem—kind hearted, eloquent, and astute—and she is uniquely suited to guide students on their path toward college. She has a talent for listening and then distilling her thoughts into a response that is precisely on point and clearly charts a path forward. I trust her judgment and advice completely.”
